I have gone to the nunnery that is to be near to visit a shrine on
New Year's Day.
The New Year's visit to a shrine is one of the manners of Japan.
It is a thing at the New Year to come to the temple and the Shinto
shrine.
Is New Year's visit to a shrine other countries?

To the nunnery through the approach to a shrine.

It has been praying for good health eating it is the tray sitting and
the radish after visiting.
The radish is a Touzan temple radish.
It is in this vicinity.
Good health..delicious.

Let's buy the souvenir, and return to the house.

This is a Daruma doll.
A green Daruma doll is a thing to pray for various sickness
recovery and a healthy body.
When it makes a vow, the Indian ink is put in the left eye, and the
wish is fulfilled, the Indian ink is put in the right eye.
And, it pays it to the nunnery.

The work of the tree is ..looking thing.. ..
On the gate, there is an interesting place.
This gate is the oldest gate in Awaji.
It is called a building built in the Momoyama age (1705).
This is Japan construction.

The wood curve structure of the nunnery looks very beautiful. Do the Chatm for good health works? I should get my friend's mum to get 1 for me when she goes japan the next time. Good health is exactly what I will need.

Awww..those dolls are so cute!! Our human owners used to live in Japan like 12 years ago, but only for a little while, and they have a small collection of Japanese dolls. The woodwork on the nunnery is AMAZING!
Have a great day!

Umetyan, thanks for the beautiful photos. I was wondering - do nuns still live in the nunnery? If the answer is yes, do they pray for people when people buy the little dolls?

The tumbling doll is ..cute doll.. ..
And, the wish is realized.
It is a wonderful thing.
And, if the wish is fulfilled, the tumbling doll is returned to the nunnery.
And, the nun expresses gratitude to the god.
The nun lives in the nunnery.
And, people near the nunnery are supporting the nunnery.

Those pictures were very interesting, I like hearing about Japan and seeing all the places you visit.

The doll was so pretty too.

We do not have any shrines in the UK, and nothing is open here in Scotland for two days after New Years eve.
